DEFiER's commitment began with the experience of a martial artist who loved judo.
It all started with one martial artist who is from the town of Furubira in Hokkaido to become the best in the world.
The founder's name is Hitoshi Sugai. When he was a junior high school student, a shocking event happened to him during his first national tournament.
The judo-gi of the other competitors in the national tournament were all judo-gi that Sugai had never seen before.
They were embroidered and were highly functional Gi provided by a well-known manufacturer. On the other hand, the judo-gi that Sugai was wearing was clearly of a different quality than the others. It may have been a trivial matter, but it was shocking and embarrassing to Sugai at that time when he was an adolescent.

To make learning martial arts more fun for children
We want children who are about to start judo to learn Budo in a fun way.
In order to make judo fun,
Defier has developed colored-gi.
In the world of judo, it was considered taboo to wear any color other than white or blue but it was also an important attempt to promote martial arts to deliver Gi which children would like to wear themselves.
A starting point is needed to give birth to future martial artists.
We want children who are about to start judo to learn Budo in a fun way. In order to make judo fun, Defier has developed colored-gi.

The cutting-edge Gi that combines traditional techniques with the latest technology
Traditionally, judo-gi has been made with 100% cotton, but most manufacturers add polyester for strength and lightness.
Although Defier's Gi "Verte" contains 10% polyester, the texture and feel of the yarn is almost the same as 100% cotton.
The core is made of polyester fiber and the sheath is made of cotton, which gives the yarn a cotton-like texture that is almost same as 100% cotton, but with strength and lightness. The manufacturing process wraps the polyester fiber with excellent functionality around the fine cotton that feels good against the skin.
By incorporating the latest technology, we have created Gi that could not be realized in the past.

Confirm customer's needs and requests
OEM PRODUCTION AT DEFIER BEGINS WITH DETAILED CUSTOMER INTERVIEWS. WE CONFIRM THE CUSTOMER'S REQUESTS FOR WHERE, HOW, AND WHEN THEY WANT TO SELL THE PRODUCT, AS WELL AS DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS (SIZE, COLOR, WEIGHT, THICKNESS, SHAPE, ETC.).
Once the customer's requirements have been determined, we select the yarn while actually holding the fabric in our hands. The thickness and weight of the fabric can be adjusted by adjusting the ratio of polyester in the yarn to achieve the touch and strength that match the concept.
Sashiko weaving, dyeing, and cutting
The traditional craft of stitch weaving produces a "strong" yet "light" fabric. Sashiko weaving produces unevenness in the fabric that gives it a three-dimensional feel, and is characterized by its durability, moisture retention, and moisture absorption. Once the fabric is completed, the dyeing process and cutting to the appropriate size are carried out.
Artisan sewing and decoration
Our craftsmen, who are well versed in the characteristics of fabrics and have reliable skills, sew our products into ideal shapes. They carefully sew each item one by one so that it will not lose its shape, in the hope that you will use it for a long time.
